Just an owner’s thoughts on her horse…

Coco’s father was the famous Holesteiner Stallion “Cheenook”. Under Oliver and Katrin Luze, Cheenook competed at the Prix St. Georges level and was trained at Grand Prix level in dressage. Cheenook was mainly a show jumping stallion, however, he was bred to many dressage mares.

He did his Stallion Performance Test in Medingen and finished third. Cheenook’s first son was Coco Cavalli, who was licensed in Oldenburg.

I first met Coco Cavalli at Sahar’s mother’s lovely facility in Doylestown, Pennsylvania about three years ago. When Sahar and I went to Florida for the winter circuit, Prima was the only horse in the barn that did not belong to Sahar or the barn’s owners. I usually finished riding around noon and I would fill the remainder of my day with rambling around the barn, fussing with Prima or just reading in her stall. Coco was there. I had fallen in love with him the moment I met him. He is such a remarkable person! This mass of white is calm & gentle, even allowing strangers to caress his muzzle. So I fussed over him. I would bathe him and condition his tail. He is such a gentleman that I could hand walk him around the property even by the mares. I was hooked. I knew I would see Sahar ride him, but I never dreamed that I would have the chance to purchase him.

He is a magnificent horse. The video we have up is his First Grand Prix test – First test under LIGHTS at Devon. Cool as a cucumber.

Coco is as exciting in the ring as he can be outside the barn. One day he backed out of the halter and took off on a sightseeing tour. He jumped fences, romped through pastures and avoided the police, Sahar & friends in their trucks for 2 hours. Sahar was beside himself to put it mildly. Finally after he had seen most of Bucks County, he just stopped to munch grass as if nothing was out of the ordinary and he was loaded onto a truck and seemed quite satisfied back in his stall. Miraculously, the vet could not find a scratch or any soreness. Now we close all the doors when we tack him up, even the door behind him as we now realize we have an equine Houdini on our hands.

He is a lover, and a clown. Coco gives kisses to everyone, which grosses out men, but the women love

I ride Coco and it is truly a joy to feel his big sweeping gaits. He is so forgiving and patient with me as I try to use the same aids that Sahar has taught him. His foals have the same work ethic, beautiful gaits, temperament and beauty as their sire. He is a magical person, as well as a best friend.

Scamp

Registered “Classy Sinclair”

In March 2007, Prima gave us one of the most exceptional colts we had ever seen. The cross between Prima and Sir Sinclair was a perfect recipe. He is bay with a sprinkle of a star on his forehead, three white socks. He has a gorgeous head which he used for mischievous purposes such as quickly stealing blankets from the isle and leading the barn kittens to the grain room. Scamp was a very loving foal as well as being a little devil, hence his barn name. In Bucks County Pennsylvania at the Oldenburg Breeders Society Inspection Scamp received a 2007 “Premium Award Foal” recognition and as he had the movements of a “rock star” and the temperament of an angel. At the same inspection Prima was entered into the Main Stud book. Scamp’s ability to learn things quickly and his gentle disposition has made him a dream to work with and spoiled at the barn. It has also allowed us to watch his marvelous gaits. When he returned to Montana he brought along Coco Lavan, a beautiful colt out of our stallion Coco Cavalli. This amazing fellow is owned by our trainer Sahar Hirosh.
