Beginnings & Endings

Beginnings

Thunderball Ranch’s new equine generation will be added to the page as their beginnings take place.

Beginnings

On May 4, 2010 we watched the arrival of Robert and Bruce’s lovely Arabian foal out a wonderful colt.  This is the first baby of the year and he is so in love with people that if you are in the stall, he walks to where you are and lays down to sleep near you.  Of course, we spent plenty of time with him in his first 24 hours.  Attached are a few pictures of his first day on the ground.

Now we are waiting for Lillie to deliver her foal.  Funny how you wait about 340 days and the last three weeks are the longest!  We’ll keep you posted.

Endings

As much as we may wish, our animals are destined to leave this world before we do.

This section is dedicated to the memory of the horses that have left us to live in greener pastures; we sometimes see their spirits in the passing clouds and fondly remember the times they shared with us on the ranch and the impressions they have left in our hearts.

Snoopy

We still have two colts out of our Snoopy – She is the dam of multiple ROM’s. Aside from that talent, this mare had a spiritual effect on all creatures that she encountered. Sadly we lost Snoopy on Valentines day (2004) due to complications in foaling. This was a devastating blow to me, as I can’t help but have favorites and she was mine. She is missed by everyone who knew her.

Thank you Whistled the Wind, thank you Rumbled the Ocean and the words echoed from every mountain top.

Krisie

Krisie was an exceptional brood mare. She produced a World Champion, a colt that came in fifth at the World Show and one of her colts also Won Congress. Much to our disappointment, she never had a filly, and I have sold all of her foals. She was a loving horse who enjoyed being a horse as well as queen bee of the barn! Krisie was euthanized alongside her beloved companion Gigi on a beautiful Spring afternoon.

Gigi

GiGi was a California Futurity winner at the age of two. The same clients would come back again and again to purchase one of her foals. Once you had the kind of horse that gave 150%, and all the love they could give, people just had to have another one. Her foals are amazing and winners. I think after Snoopy died, GiGi became my favorite. GiGi was euthanized due to lameness. On a sunny afternoon she and Krisie went to greener pastures together.
